YOu AbSoluTEly sHoulD NoT VoTE!

Recently a PSA has hit the United States by storm. It’s blowing up everywhere on the internet and is inspiring many people to vote, it’s been a very popular topic of conversation. The “Knock The Vote” PSA was obviously directed towards the American youth to try and encourage them to vote. Elderly people are the main cast for the PSA, they mock the youth by thanking them for not voting because they’ll help keep thing how they currently are. The directors of the PSA are using reverse psychology to trick the youth to go and vote and it is most certainly working. The elderly cast brings up strong points such as the new laws Trump has passed, how they help the rich, don’t care about school shootings, and how they don’t care about global warming because they will be dead soon. This has intimidated many American youths and has encouraged them to go and vote. This was the main message of the PSA. They want the youth of America to go and vote. This PSA demonstrates how the younger people of a nation can make a change in the country just by voting. This PSA efficiently demonstrates how voting is important and that everyone should use their right and vote for the next person that will be running your country for the next few years. I believe this PSA unquestionably caused more young people to check their voter registration, and are now going to make a colossal impact on the 2018 midterm elections, thanks to this new PSA. I’m sure they could do better, but this has been the best PSA on getting young youth to go and vote out of all the others that we have seen before.

After watching the "Knock The Vote" ad, I found it quite funny. I think they did a pretty good job with how they presented their idea using reverse psychology. Personally, I believe that the ad is the best of its kind. The ad says that the people who go out in vote are having an edge in the election because few young people are going out to vote, which gives them an advantage. I believe that there will be a spike of young people going out to vote due to this new ad because the ad somewhat intimidates young people by saying that the current voters don't care about what's going to happen to the planet because they are going to die soon.

  2. I had a different opinion with you but I agree with your last comment. Your last comment changed my mind to think about the positive point of the advertisement. However, I still want to say that the expressions were too aggressive and it would be better if they used wiser comments and ideas to persuade young people. It could be a new way of persuading but I think it was quite provocative in general. Incendiary remarks made the advertisement controversial and irritating, therefore, it can't encourage every viewer to change their mind. If the people in the advertisement spoke logically and mildly, I think it would cause a better result and be remembered as a positive and respectful advertisement.

  3. I agree that the PSA was a clever way of hiding their true message. They wanted to get younger people to vote, so they used reverse psychology and it worked. It was also for a good cause as the country will be in the hands of the younger generation soon and if they don't start voting now, they may not vote in the future either. I disagree with what you said about how they could do better, the video worked as they planned. I don't see anything they could have added to the video besides making it so obvious that they were just trying to get the younger generation to vote. - Janssen

  4. I agree with what you say about this PSA made by Another Acronym. The elderly cast mocking millenials, thanking them for not voting should easily make them want to vote in future elections to prove them wrong. By showing why the elderly doesn't care about the future should also prove this point. Highlighting their selfish desires and placing it in a fast but informative video cleverly relays the message that Another Acronym is trying to convey. Just as you said, I also think that Another Acronym did really well on presenting their campaign. Overall, I think that the video is a great way to motivate millenials in voting in future elections by showing them what could happen if they didn't vote.

  5. I agree with you, that PSA was a great way to taunt and motivate the younger generation into voting, having elderly people talk about the benefits they will gain if Trump wins. Having the elderly speak about how these problems that will affect our future won't affect theirs, the PSA did done a good job in getting younger people into voting and may have motivated them into voting for the future election showing them that they choose their future.
