Social Media is cancelled!1!111!!!

Image
I was watching some videos with a couple of friends the other day on a site called, "Watch2Gether," when I encountered an ad about problems with social media. This ad intrigued me because at that point I was trying to look for a topic to write about for this blog. As I read more about the problems with social media, I began to think that all of these issues would not be a thing if social media wasn't invented or if there was a ban. These days, our world revolves heavily on social media. The popularity of someone today is usually dependent on how many likes, views, subscribers, followers, or comments that person has. This may have been a massive game changer on how we communicate with each other these days, but with all of this, a lot of issues also came with this. The website, https://www.theodysseyonline.com/five-problems-with-social-media, talks about five problems that occur within today's use of social media. These five problems are, the competition to get the...

Fake news isn't something new, it has been on the rise these past couple of years and it's all thanks to the web. There are millions upon millions, quite possibly billions of people on the web which gives fake news various stages to spread on. There are various reasons concerning why fake news is presented in any defense. It could be to mislead the overall public or trick them. There is also fake news on destinations where they would unveil to you how you could transform your old wrinkly skin into beautiful young skin by just taking one simple pill. The amount of fake news I see on a daily basis is remarkable. I find these ads on poorly made websites that show you the "Top 3 super fruits that will make you look and feel like you are a teenager again." None of these "news articles" are true, there are just there to grab your attention and to gain your click. This click increase the number of views and determines the amount of money the article receives. The...

Culture related Halloween costumes are not cool!!!111!1!!!!

Image
"Mexican" costume on Bay With the death of Halloween as of late October, there has been much discussion about the suitability of the outfit a few people wear. A large portion of these grumblings are encompassed over individuals wearing socially unfeeling outfits. The video My Culture isn't Your Costume was discharged with the goal that more individuals can end up mindful of this issue. This is evidently an exceptionally remarkable issue for a great amount of people, as it should. Halloween is multi day to take on the appearance of something startling or amusing, and by taking on the appearance of different cultures, it hints that these cultures are terrifying or entertaining. I believe that the stores selling these kinds of outfits should stop selling these types of costumes. On the off chance that individuals can't purchase these outfits they won't most likely take on the appearance of different cultures. The activities of the individuals who take on the ap...

Recently a PSA has hit the United States by storm. It’s blowing up everywhere on the internet and is inspiring many people to vote, it’s been a very popular topic of conversation. The “Knock The Vote” PSA was obviously directed towards the American youth to try and encourage them to vote. Elderly people are the main cast for the PSA, they mock the youth by thanking them for not voting because they’ll help keep thing how they currently are. The directors of the PSA are using reverse psychology to trick the youth to go and vote and it is most certainly working. The elderly cast brings up strong points such as the new laws Trump has passed, how they help the rich, don’t care about school shootings, and how they don’t care about global warming because they will be dead soon. This has intimidated many American youths and has encouraged them to go and vote. This was the main message of the PSA. They want the youth of America to go and vote. This PSA demonstrates how the younger people of a n...

Nike takes a shot with having Colin Kaepernick as the face of their new ad campaign.

Image
Colin Kaepernick is the new face of Nike’s “Just Do It” 30th anniversary ad campaign and a lot of people have something to say about it. Some people love it, and some people hate it, vowing to boycott their products and burning every Nike product you have. Kaepernick was pictured with the words, “Believe in something. Even if it means sacrificing everything.” This is exactly what Kaepernick did, during a football game Kaepernick took a knee during the American National Anthem to support the ongoing mistreatment of African Americans. He believed in something, and not only did he stand up for it, he sacrificed everything he had for it. Once Kaepernick became a free agent in 2017, he was unable to be resigned onto another football team. This is when Nike swooped in and brought him in to be apart of the “Just Do It” ad campaign. A lot of people responded very poorly to this new ad campaign. Many people started burning Nike logos and even their Nike shoes. Personally, I like what Nike did...
